Gold Award Winners
Serenity recognizes young women in our community who exemplify servant leadership.
Here are a couple of shining starts from past fundraisers...
Claire Millican - 2017 GOLD AWARD
My name is Claire. I am an 8th grade student at Linda Jobe Middle School in Mansfield, Texas. I am an A Honor roll student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society and the cheerleading team. Some of my favorite hobbies are gymnastics, acting, horse showing and providing story time to kindergarten children. I am an advocate for the community. I volunteer twice a month for community events such as Special Olympics for spring and summer. I am a part of the buddy program for the Special Needs Sweetheart Pageant for 4 years as well as the All Star Equestrian in Burleson assisting special needs individuals during horse therapy. I am proud to be the 2017 Gold Award Winner for Serenity Transformation Home.
Emma Smith - 2016 GOLD AWARD
My name is Emma. I am 14 years old and currently a Girl Scout Senior. I have been a Girl Scout for six years. In that time I have earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award, Silver Award, and participated in many community events and Girl Scout Journeys. I am now working toward earning the Girl Scout Gold award which is the highest Girl Scout honor. My Gold Award project will benefit young girls of Serenity Transformation Home and girls in the surrounding areas. My project will provide girls with information on services available such as food services, housing, education, and employment. My goal is to help stamp out homelessness in my lifetime!
